Kay Syddall is originally from Richfield, Utah. Kay comes to the Haven at Sky Mountain with over 45 years experience in the food industry. He started out in his grandfather’s restaurant cutting potatoes into fries, cutting and breading buttermilk onion rings, chicken, and fish. Waiting on customers was always his favorite job.
Kay worked at Restaurants around the Richfield area, and eventually moved to Salt Lake City and started cooking as a Chef’s assistant at Primary Children’s Hospital. Kay became the Food and Nutrition Supervisor for the University of Colorado Hospital. This is where he attained his Dietary Manager Certification. He worked for an elite retirement community outside of Boulder Colorado. This position gave him experience in brunches, seafood, happy hours, and fine dining in a senior setting.
Kay moved back to Utah to be closer to family after 28 years in Colorado. Kay has a real passion for cooking, baking, catering and taking care of people. His love and dedication to our seniors is obvious in his culinary gifts he shares with them. He has worked at several senior communities and rehabilitation facilities.
He is grateful for the opportunity to work for the Haven at Sky Mountain in a beautiful building bringing Five Star Service to our Residents and their families. On his off time Kay works in his garden and yard. He also likes to ride his Harley. He loves animals and especially likes Dogs.
