Golden Years Community Expo Coming To Haven Assisted Living
The Haven at Sky Mountain is preparing to welcome the community for a day dedicated to health, connection and celebration. The Golden Years Expo, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11, promises to be an event where education meets enjoyment, offering something for everyone from local residents to visitors across Southern Utah.
The expo will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Haven, located 2192 W. 100 North in Hurricane. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the senior living community’s courtyard will be transformed into a hub of activity with dozens of vendor booths, each offering handouts, demonstrations and resources designed to support healthy living. Attendees can explore wellness products, ask questions of health professionals and participate in interactive games and activities designed to engage both mind and body.
“This event is about more than just information,” said Brad Oliverson, co-owner and director of The Haven. “We want people to walk away not only with knowledge but also with a sense of community and encouragement to live life to the fullest.”
Expert speakers and timely topics
Throughout the day, expert speakers will take the stage at the top of every hour to share valuable insights on topics relevant to older adults, caregivers and families. Presentations will cover subjects such as wills and trusts, breathwork for stress relief, yoga and holistic wellness practices, healthy aging strategies and guidance on making the most of Medicare and Social Security benefits.
Oliverson said the wide-ranging topics reflect the needs of the community, which is made up of people from all walks of life seeking answers on how to navigate retirement, health and long-term planning.
“We’ve worked hard to bring in professionals who can speak to the real questions people have,” he added. “These are subjects that matter to families, whether it’s understanding your Medicare coverage or learning simple techniques to manage stress.”
Food, fun and raffles
While education is at the heart of the Golden Years Expo, fun will also play a central role. Food will be served fresh and include delicious options, and raffle drawings throughout the day will give attendees chances to win prizes.
The event is designed to appeal to all ages. While older adults may be the primary audience, Oliverson emphasized that families, caregivers and even younger community members will find something of value at the expo.
“It’s an intergenerational event,” he said. “Grandparents can bring their children and grandchildren, and everyone will discover activities they can enjoy together.”
Building connections in Southern Utah
The Haven at Sky Mountain has long positioned itself as more than just a senior living community. By hosting events such as the Golden Years Expo, The Haven continues to highlight its role as a gathering place for the wider community.
